Networks can be classified based on their geographic scope, such as local area networks (LANs) that connect devices within a small geographic area, or wide area networks (WANs) that connect devices over a larger geographic area, such as a city, country, or even worldwide. 

 Common network topologies include bus, star, mesh, and ring. 

Types of Networks:

There are differents types of networks Like local area Network, Wide area Network, Metropolitan area Network and Storage area Network ets.

Local Area Network (LAN): A LAN is a type of network that is used to connect computers and devices within a small geographic area, such as an office building or school.

Wide Area Network (WAN): A WAN is a network that spans a large geographic area, such as a country or the world. 

WANs are commonly used to connect multiple LANs and allow for communication between devices that are located in different regions.

Metropolitan Area Network (MAN): A MAN is a network that covers a larger geographic area than a LAN but smaller than a WAN.

 MANs are commonly used in urban areas to connect multiple LANs and provide internet access to a large number of users.

Storage Area Network (SAN): SANs are commonly used in data centers and allow for the centralization of storage resources.

Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN): A WLAN is a type of network that uses wireless technology, such as Wi-Fi, to connect devices within a small geographic area. 

Virtual Private Network (VPN): A VPN is a type of network that allows users to connect to a private network over a public network, such as the internet. 

Cloud Network: A cloud network is a type of network that is based on cloud computing technology.
